School's out and it's time to kick off summer with some fun! Mark your calendars for these events taking place in Lehigh Valley throughout the month of June.

Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival (beginning June 2 and continuing through August 6) Hosted on the campus of DeSales University, the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival brings top-notch theatre to Lehigh Valley. But don't let the name of the festival confuse you - there's much more to be seen than just Shakespearean works! Highlights of the 2017 season include Evita, The Hound of the Baskervilles, As You Like It, and more. The festival also presents two children's shows, making an outing a perfect summer activity for the whole family. Learn more about the 2017 season here.

Horseback Trail Rides at Jacobsburg State Park (various dates throughout June & July) If you've never explored Jacobsburg State Park, this is a great way to get acclimated to the park's many miles of trails. Horseback rides trail rides can be arranged for small groups of two to six people, giving you a chance to take in the woods, fields, and pastures the park. 

Masters & Rookies Racing at the Valley Preferred Cycling Center (Saturdays through September 9) Head to Trexlertown to watch some of the top up-and-coming cyclists race at the Velodrome. Saturday afternoon races are free to attend. While you're there, be sure to browse the Trexlertown Farmer's Market to stock up on fresh, local produce.

Blues, Brews, and Barbeque (Saturday, June 10) The streets of downtown Allentown come alive with music during this annual festival. Enjoy performances from noon to 10 p.m. plus plenty of great eats, activities for the family, and more. Admission to this festival is free; parking is available in adjacent decks.

Food Truck Border Brawl (Saturday, June 10) Prepare your appetite! Top food trucks from Pennsylvania and New Jersey go head-to-head at SteelStacks. Attendees will have the chance to enjoy a variety of fares and can then vote on their favorite treats. Two ticketed, public sessions are available. 

SouthSide Film Festival (June 13 - 17) Various venues throughout the SouthSide of Bethlehem host film screenings, talkbacks, and more during this annual festival. This year, more than 70 films will be screened ranging from documentaries to animated shorts and everything in between. 

Swine & Wine Summer Kickoff (Sunday, June 18) Treat dad to an afternoon of fun at Folino Estate. Activities include bocce ball, food stations, live music, and even a pig roast! To top it off, dads can enjoy a complimentary glass of wine or bottle of beer during the event. The tasting room will be open throughout the day. 

34th Annual Schnecksville Community Fair (June 20 - 24) This is a must for families! The Schnecksville Fair features all sorts of small-town fun including carnival rides, competitive exhibits, baking contests, concerts, and more. Be sure to pack along your appetites for plenty of good eats along the way! 

Moonlight Rafting (June 24, additional dates in July & August) Looking for a new way to experience rafting down the Lehigh River? Pocono Whitewater offers a nighttime rafting excursion down eight miles of the river, culminating with wine and cheese at the end of your journey. 

Cars & Coffee (June 25, additional dates through September) Head to SteelStacks to check out cars of all shapes and sizes. Visitors will have the chance to browse rows and rows of cars on display.
