And with more than 20 courses in the region, there will be something to challenge, or perhaps improve, your handicap. Get caught up in the history at Olde Homestead Golf Club in New Tripoli, with a restored 1910 farmhouse that now serves as the clubhouse and a 1700s summer kitchen and one-room schoolhouse near the bottom of the course. Allentown Municipal Golf Course offers a challenging golfing experience for all level of players. Players can get in a little practice at one of two putting greens or at the driving range. After playing the 18-hole course, relax and socialize with friends at Jack’s Slice for Italian fare and a slice of hand-tossed pizza for lunch or an early dinner.
The historic Saucon Valley County Club arose out of the post-World War I boom in Bethlehem, at a time when Bethlehem Steel Corporation dominated the economic life of the city. Golf architect Herbert Strong was selected to design the initial 18-hole course. Over the years, Saucon Valley County Club has grown from an 18-hole course and a clubhouse to become one of the largest private clubs in North America, encompassing 800 acres, 60 holes of golf, an 18th century guest house and three world-class golf courses: the Old Course, Grace Course, and Weyhill Course and home to the great USGA championships like the U.S. Senior Open in 2022 and U.S. Women's Open Championship in 2009.
