The Da Vinci Science Center gives you a true hands-on look at what makes things work. Let your body weight balance out the pulley system, experience hurricane-force winds in a category 1 simulator, admire sea creatures in the marine tank, and so much more. There are even activities for children as young as preschool age, including the water table and engineering-based playscape. The Da Vinci Science Center welcomes a number of traveling exhibits, giving guests a fresh experience with every visit. 

Have a group that’s interested in cars? A stop at America On Wheels is a must! More than just a car collection, the museum features cars, trucks, motorcycles, and bicycles as it tells two very important regional stories – the history of Mack Trucks and the early development of the automobile industry and highway system in Pennsylvania. Recent exhibits have included famous rides from the Transformers movies.

Home to more than 300 animals representing 100 species, visitors can get up close and personal with African penguins, otters, zebras, and more. Groups can have a special experience including animal feedings, where you might even get a chance to interact with Murphy the giraffe! The Lehigh Valley Zoo is located within the grounds of the Trexler Nature Preserve, offering miles of hiking trails for any skill level.

Let the imagination run wild at the Crayola Experience, where visitors are encouraged to color outside the lines. This hands-on attraction will give you a glimpse at how the world-famous Crayola crayons are made. Plus, you’ll get the chance to test your creativity at a number of attractions including Wrap It Up, where you can create a crayon with your own name on the label. Don’t miss Adventure Lab, a brand new interactive exhibit where you’ll be tasked with accomplishing a number of challenges. 

Round out your visit to Lehigh Valley with a step back in time. The National Canal Museum gives you a look at how the industrial age came to be and is now home to the state’s only mule-drawn canal boat. The ride along the canal is a peaceful 45 minutes where passengers will learn about the history of the canal and the important role it played in Lehigh Valley’s past. The mules, Hank and George, help guide the boat along the waterway. Be sure to stop by the museum, after your ride on the Josiah White II canal boat.
