Tucked away in the north western portion of Lehigh Valley you will find the small town of New Tripoli. It's a scenic drive from Allentown that will take you past the Trexler Nature Preserve and the Lehigh Valley Zoo. So, what's the hidden gem in New Tripoli? That definitely has to be Olde Homestead Golf Club.
I've played the course a couple of times and absolutely love being in the middle of nowhere. It's pretty much just you and nature! A few Saturday's ago I actually checked out their Par 3 course. I had not played it before and I thought it would be the perfect way to get back into the golf world after surgery.
A couple friends went with me and we all had a great time. We took our push carts and walked nine holes. I was pleasantly surprised at some of the challenges we encountered. There were elevated greens and tee boxes and the distances seemed to be spot on for the style course it was.
I would highly recommend checking it out if you are new to the game or if you're just looking to brush up on your short game. The price was very reasonable and it's located right next to the range so you can hit a few more balls if you feel up to it.
Have you ever been to Olde Homestead Golf Club? Where's your favorite Lehigh Valley course?
