Walk in Penn’s Woods: Forestry for Bird and Wildlife Habitat
Overview
Sunday, October 5, 2025, 10:00AM - 12:30PM EDT
Join Wildlands Conservancy's Director of Property Stewardship, Carl Martin, Penn State Extension, and the Durham Township Environmental Advisory Council for a guided hike exploring the critical role of habitat diversity in conservation.
This 2.5-mile hike takes place on the Horth Easement, a mountain property permanently protected by Wildlands Conservancy where active forest management has been ongoing for several years. While the land remains in private ownership, the conservation easement ensures its natural resources are protected forever, and this program offers a rare chance for the public to experience a property not typically open to visitors. Come experience how intentional forest stewardship supports both wildlife and healthy ecosystems, while enjoying the natural beauty of a permanently protected mountain landscape.
Well-mannered pets are permitted if they remain on a leash.
