National Museum of Industrial History
Overview
Create your own iron casting and learn the art of traditional foundry mold making in this immersive two-day workshop at the National Museum of Industrial History. Led by Vaughn Randall, who brings decades of experience in patternmaking and iron casting and currently teaches at SUNY Cortland, this hands-on workshop will cover multi-part mold making techniques through demonstrations, individual instruction, and guided practice.
Includes:
- Up to 100 lb sand mold for cast metal
- Expert technical instruction in sand mold making
- Pre-workshop guidance on pattern preparation Iron casting of your completed mold during NMIH’s Steel Weekend iron pour
- Finished casting available for pickup at NMIH on October 11
