Overview
Sundown Rundown isn’t just a race—it’s an ultra that forgot the slow part.
Course Design: 1.6 miles (2.8km) lap distances. The distance is intentional to make pacing more challenging. This is a short-course backyard-style race with an elimination built into the start times.
Backyard = no set finish distance, and regular starting times of each lap
Elimination = Runners who miss the start time of the next lap are eliminated (each runner is scored, using the finish place on the lap to determine their final place)
The start time per lap is reduced by 30 seconds each lap, gradually increasing the pace. Strategies vary, which is part of the challenge!
