Every Thanksgiving, the rivalry between Easton and Phillipsburg takes center stage. Generations of players have taken the field, thousands of fans have filled the stands, and bragging rights have crossed, or stayed on, their side of the Delaware River. But this rivalry is about more than what happens on the football field.
Join the Northampton County Historical & Genealogical Society at the Sigal Museum on Thursday, November 5 at 6:00 PM for a special panel discussion celebrating the history, traditions, stories, and community pride behind the Easton–Phillipsburg Thanksgiving Day football rivalry.
Featuring guests from both Easton and Phillipsburg, the conversation will bring perspectives from both sides of the river together to reflect on memorable games, longstanding traditions, personal experiences, and what it means to be part of a rivalry that has connected these two communities for generations.
From the players and coaches on the field to the families and fans in the stands, the Thanksgiving Day game has become a tradition passed from one generation to the next. Win or lose, its history is woven into the identities of Easton and Phillipsburg and continues to create new stories each year.
