Overview
Lehigh County's Commemoration of the 250th Anniversary of the birth of our country will be kicked off at the Opening Ceremony of the 2025 Great Allentown Fair, which will be held on Wednesday, August 27 at 5:00 pm in the Astound Broadband Farmerama Theater. This kick-off will accompany our normal ribbon cutting ceremony for the 173rd Great Allentown Fair.
On July 4, 2026 America will celebrate the 250th birthday of our nation. This historic milestone gives our nation the opportunity to celebrate our past, present and future. Lehigh County's historical significance in the Revolutionary War along with our many restored historical properties create memorable destination opportunities. Our unique ethnically rich communities, which helped to build our area into a powerhouse first in agriculture and then for the Industrial Revolution are still thriving and also invite exploration.
The County Committee has chosen the theme "Lehigh County: Celebrating Red, White, Blue and You." Many events are being planned hopefully in every township, borough and city in the Valley and at the 2025 Fair we will be offering two competitive classes that fit right into the lifestyle from the 1776 era.
