Ellen Berkenblit revels in the luminosity and texture of oil paint, pushing the medium to its expressive edge. Her bold female figures and their animal companions serve as vessels for dynamic lines and vivid color, shifting and dissolving upon close view. In her first solo museum exhibition, The Clouds are Luminous, Berkenblit presents recent large-scale canvases alongside an immersive installation of Kozo collages and zine drawings, showcasing her ever-evolving visual language and fearless experimentation.
