On April 18, celebrate the International Day for Monuments and Sites on the site of the nation’s first industrial center. Experience 18th and 19th century life through demonstrations by blacksmiths, tinsmiths, open-hearth cooks and other artisans hard at work showcasing 18th- and 19th- century crafts and trades. Plus, discover colonial-era medical practices and Moravian traditions and visit the 1762 Waterworks – the nation’s first pumped municipal water system – to see the 18-foot waterwheel in motion.
