Last Minute Summer Family Fun in Lehigh Valley before Labor Day

Labor Day weekend (August 31 - September 2, 2024) signals the unofficial end of summer, and Lehigh Valley gives the season a proper send-off with plenty of fun things to do and exciting events happening all weekend long across the two-county region.

Lehigh Valley’s Labor Day weekend celebration is anchored by the annual Great Allentown Fair on the Allentown Fairgrounds. The live music from the grandstand features a stacked lineup for 2024 including headliners Cheak Trick, Pentatonix, Jeff Dunham, and the children show senstation: Blippi! Plus, you won't want to miss the J & J Demolition Derby or the delicious fair food.

But these live music acts at The Fair aren’t the only concerts happening in Lehigh Valley this Labor Day Weekend. Levitt Pavilion Summer Concert Series at SteelStacks welcomes Absolute Adele w/ Jennifer Cella (August 31) and Gable Price and Friends (September 1). At the Community Park Arts Pavilion Summer Concert Series, The Swingtime Dolls close out the summer series on September 1.

Going hand-in-hand with the unofficial end to summer, it's the last chance to take to the rides and slides at Wildwater Kingdom as the park then begins to transition for the fall season. Or head out on the Lehigh River for a Dam Release Whitewater Rafting Trip or step it up under the stars with Pocono Whitewater for a moonlight rafting experience (September 1).

Farmers markets are in high demand as most the season's bounty is being harvested for your dish favorites. Rooftop patios and outdoor dining venues transition the decor and menus.
