Juneteenth Celebrations in Lehigh Valley
Juneteenth, celebrated each year on June 19, marks a pivotal moment in American history—the day in 1865 when the last enslaved people in Texas learned they were free, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.
Today, it stands as a powerful tribute to Black freedom, resilience, and culture.
In Lehigh Valley, Juneteenth is a week-long, family-friendly celebration that fills Allentown, Bethlehem, and Easton with community pride. With parades, cultural performances, sports tournaments, food festivals, and wellness events, each gathering is designed to uplift, connect, and inspire.
