Hugh Moore Park
Located just a 15-minute drive from Easton’s Centre Square, the 520-acre Hugh Moore Park is nestled between the Lehigh River and the Lehigh Canal.
The park offers adventure both on the trail and on the water. Kayaking and canoeing are allowed on the water, while you can feel free to walk, run, hike, or bike along the trails and pathways. One of the manicured trails that runs through the park is the 2.5 mile Hugh Moore Park Spur of the Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor which spans a total 165 miles.
The park also features a bike skills course and playgrounds as well as plenty of open green spaces for picnicking. Hugh Moore Park sits on the former site of one of the United States’ first industrial parks and is a part of the National Park Service Heritage Corridor.
The National Canal Museum is also on the grounds and offers boat and bike rentals from the beginning of June through the end of October, Wednesday through Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Museum offers an exploration of the history, culture, science, and technology of canals through various exhibits and hands-on activities. The most popular hands-on activity is to take a canal boat ride aboard the Josiah White II.
Due to unforeseen construction on the Lehigh Canal by the City of Easton, we will be unable to run canal boat rides on the Josiah White II until further notice .
