Allentown Art Museum
The Allentown Art Museum is a vibrant cultural center with a world-class collection, programs for visitors of all ages, and a distinctive museum store. Serving over 100,000 participants annually, a large percentage of visitors are children through in-school programs.
The museum's collection of about 17,000 works of art offers the Lehigh Valley community the opportunity to experience nearly 2,000 years of cultural heritage, in an accessible and visitor-friendly environment. The permanent collection includes superb European Renaissance and Baroque paintings, American paintings and sculpture from the last three centuries, Southeast Asian sculpture, international textiles, decorative arts, and a library designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.
Today, the Allentown Art Museum embraces the broadest possible audience in Lehigh Valley, offering tremendous variety and quality in its collection and exhibitions, educational and popular programs, and its busy calendar of public events.
The Café at the Allentown Art Museum is operated by Karen Hunter Catering, voted “Best of the Valley” by Lehigh Valley magazine and “Favorite Foodie” by readers of Lehigh Valley Style magazine. The menu features soups, salads, sandwiches, paninis, vegetable platters, fruit cups, hummus, and desserts made fresh daily and available for takeout. Free Wi-Fi, contemporary music, and a view of Arts Park and the downtown skyline encourage you to make lingering in the Museum Café part of your art practice.
