In Search of the Declaration: A Historic Bus Tour of Easton, Trenton, & Philadelphia
Overview
The Northampton County Historical & Genealogical Society is excited to announce the launch our long-anticipated bus tour, “In Search of the Declaration: A Historic Bus Tour of Easton, Trenton, and Philadelphia.” In these three extraordinary locations, the Declaration of Independence was first read aloud on July 8, 1776, marking a monumental shift in our country’s history that still echoes 250 years after its adoption and ratification.
Guests will begin their day at 9:00am at the Sigal Museum, where our certified guides will lead you through an exclusive tour of our exhibit, Read This! The History of Media in Northampton County. Then, you will board the bus to travel to Washington Crossing Historic Park, the 1719 William Trent House, and Christ Church Philadelphia for private, guided tours and behind-the-scenes experiences.
You will also enjoy lunch at the historic Washington Crossing Inn, featuring a seasonal garden salad, choice between vegetarian or meat main course, and dessert. But the excitement doesn’t stop after returning home at the end of the day! Included with the tour is a pass to return to the Sigal Museum and the 1753 Bachmann Publick House to continue exploring local history.
“In Search of the Declaration” will run from 9:00am to 6:00pm on the second Saturday of every month, from November 2025 to December 2026.
