Celebrate Juneteenth in Allentown!
Join the City of Allentown for a powerful and exciting Juneteenth Celebration featuring a flag raising ceremony, community festivities, and competitive basketball and flag football tournaments across multiple locations. Juneteenth is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the end of slavery in the United States. Allentown proudly honors its history, culture, and significance with a weekend filled with unity, sports, and celebration.
Juneteenth Flag Football Tournament
Location: J. Birney Crum Stadium & Allen Baseball Field
Date: Sunday, June 7 (Rain or Shine)
Time: 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM
Teams will compete throughout the day in an exciting showcase of skill, teamwork, and community spirit at one of the city’s premier athletic venues.
Juneteenth Flag Raising Ceremony
Location: Allentown City Hall
Date: Friday, June 19
Time: 12:00 PM
The City of Allentown will hold a ceremonial flag raising at noon to officially commemorate Juneteenth. Community members are invited to gather in reflection and celebration as we honor this important day in American history.
Juneteenth Basketball Tournament
Location: Cedar Beach Park
Dates: Friday, June 19 – Sunday, June 21

Registration is required Flag Football & Basketball Tournaments through the City’s MyRec site.
