Williams Center for the Arts
Overview
One of the Lehigh Valley’s great cultural attractions is the Williams Center for the Arts in Easton. This jewel of a concert hall is perched atop College Hill, where, since 1983, it has stood as a welcoming sentinel for the discriminating and adventurous arts connoisseur. The theater is acoustically sublime and its intimate size—at 400 seats—means every seat is the best seat in the house.
World renowned chamber and jazz musicians, cutting-edge dance and theater companies, and performers from every corner of the globe form an essential “Who’s Who” of the arts world here: Orpheus Chamber Orchestra with soloists like Arturo Sandoval and Vadim Gluzman, pianist Simone Dinnerstein, Mark Morris Dance Group, Pat Metheny, Wynton Marsalis, and Cécile McLorin Salvant are a few of the greats who regularly appear. Admission is awe-inspiring, too, with tickets usually 30 – 80% less than New York City prices. Bonus: the Williams Center Gallery hosts exhibits free of charge for the public year round.
Located on the beautiful Lafayette College campus at 317 Hamilton Street, the Williams Center is just minutes from Routes 78, 22, and 33, and an easy drive from New York City, Philadelphia, Bucks County, and the Poconos. Ample free parking is available.
