The Historic Easton Cemetery
Overview
The Historic Easton Cemetery, established in 1849, is the earliest and best surviving example of a romantic parklike cemetery within the Lehigh Valley metro area. The cemetery provides visitors with thousands of examples of funeral artwork, with decorative styles such as Greco-Roman Revival, Gothic Victorian, and Art Deco. A few noteworthy architectural features include a Gothic Revival Gatehouse and office, stable, cemetery chapel, and a Gothic frame workshop.
The cemetery is open to the public everyday, from dawn til dusk, where visitors can enjoy a quiet spot for reflection, time to visit their loved ones, a place to walk your dog, and more. While still an active cemetery, they are on the National Register of Historic Places.
