Lehigh Valley Center for Independent Living (LVCIL) is a nonprofit organization that empowers people with all types of disabilities to achieve independence. Founded in 1990, LVCIL provides the following services for people with disabilities: Advocacy, Peer Support, Independent Living Skills Education, Information and Referral, Housing Search and Support, Services for Veterans, Workplace Readiness Education, Job Coaching, Sign Language Interpreter Services, Youth Transition Support, Supports Coordination through the Adult Autism Waiver and Office of Long-Term Living Waivers, Community Accessibility, and more. AccessCheck.org, a service of LVCIL, is an interactive mobile website for everyone concerned with accessibility. Get answers to accessibility questions and ADA information. People with disabilities and their families, friends, and caretakers can easily find accessible public locations and rate the accessibility based on their visit. Businesses and organizations can find solutions to become more welcoming to people with disabilities which, in turn opens the door to new business. Good access is good business! LVCIL’s AccessCheck offers disability education training and webinars for businesses of all types seeking to become more disability friendly. An accessibility site surveys provides our customers with practical and cost-effective improvement suggestions to improve the physical accessibility of their office or place of business.
