Karl Stirner Arts Trail

Overview

Located in the thriving gateway city of Easton, Pennsylvania, within walking distance of the Simon Silk Mill, Lafayette College, and the downtown area, the Karl Stirner Arts Trail follows the historic and bucolic Bushkill Creek for 2.4 miles.

Through the placement of artwork in a transcendent natural setting, the Arts Trail seeks to stir the public imagination and sense of possibility. The trail is named for Easton sculptor Karl Stirner, who spent 25 years as a mentor and unofficial real estate agent, ushering aspiring artists to Easton.

The Karl Stirner Arts Trail is dedicated to advancing civic dialogue and infusing the community with creative capital, so as to bolster economic revitalization and foster civic and cultural pride.

What to Know Before You Go
KSAT is a wonderful place to walk or bike on a paved trail, or wander off along the Nature trail with access to Bushkill Creek for fishing and wading. It is wheelchair accessible and parking can be found in three main locations at either end of the trail. A good portion of the trail provides for a naturally shaded walk, allowing visitors to stroll even during hotter days. The trail not only offers art installations on the trail, but features a dog park, interactive art installations, and fun activities like movies and fitness events on the trail.

Recent Projects
KSAT is currently working on installing an interactive Musical Path as well as expanding the dog park. The trail has ongoing projects such as the Tree of Forty Fruits and the Living Willow Project. KSAT was recently gifted with the amazing George Ball Collection of Steve Tobin Sculptures, some of which have been installed on the trail and in various other parks across Easton, ready for you to explore. KSAT is looking forward to a new pedestrian bridge into SILK in the near future.

Access Point: From Downtown Easton, follow directions to Bushkill Drive. If arriving from outside of Easton, take the 13th Street Exit on Rt22 and follow directions to N.13th Street parking, right near the newly redeveloped SILK mill.
