Lehigh Valley Movies in the Parks

From classics of the Golden Age of Hollywood and retro childhood favorites, to the best family-friendly box office favorites from recent years, you'll be sure to enjoy the screen under the stars. All movies begin at dusk. If you're unsure when dusk is, visit any weather site to see the time of dusk each day. Check the individual Facebook pages for daily listings and weather-related cancellations.

Various Parks

South Whitehall Townships visits parks all over South Whitehall to bring you the 2024 Movies in the Park series. Gather your friends, neighbors, and family and join for these free family-friendly Movies in the Park. Bring a blanket or lawn chairs and arrive early to participate in the special South Whitehall Township Police Department (SWTPD) activity before each event and to get the best seat in the park. Pre-Movie activities begin at 7:00pm and the movie begins at dusk, or when it is dark enough to see the screen. All titles subject to change based on availability.

Guests attending the Summer Family Movies Series presented by Lehigh Valley National Airport at SteelStacks™ are invited to bring their blankets and lawn chairs to sit on as they enjoy movies under the stars. Free parking is available at the parking lots on First Street immediately adjacent to SteelStacks™; food and beverages will be available at the Mack Truck Stop at the Levitt Pavilion, as well as the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks, located across the street from the Levitt Pavilion. All English films will have Spanish subtitles, and all Spanish films will have English subtitles. Movies begin at 6:30 p.m.

• Wednesday, May 22 - "How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World" In the third chapter of this beloved series, the sudden appearance of female Light Fury coincides with the darkest threat their village has ever faced, Hiccup and Toothless must leave the only home they’ve known and journey to a hidden world thought only to exist in myth. As their true destines are revealed, dragon and rider will fight together—to the very ends of the Earth—to protect everything they’ve grown to treasure.
• Wednesday, May 29 - "Tarzan (25th Anniversary)" In this Disney animated tale, the orphaned Tarzan grows up in the remote African wilderness, raised by the gentle gorilla Kala. When a British expedition enters the jungle, Tarzan encounters the beautiful Jane and recognizes that, like her, he's human. Falling in love with Jane, Tarzan is torn between embracing civilization and staying with his gorilla family, which becomes threatened by the ruthless hunter Clayton.
• Wednesday, June 5 - "Encanto" The Madrigals are an extraordinary family who live hidden in the mountains of Colombia in a charmed place called the Encanto. The magic of the Encanto has blessed every child in the family with a unique gift -- every child except Mirabel. However, she soon may be the Madrigals’ last hope when she discovers that the magic surrounding the Encanto is now in danger.
• Wednesday, June 12 - "Mary Poppins" When Jane and Michael, the children of the wealthy and uptight Banks family, are faced with the prospect of a new nanny, they are pleasantly surprised by the arrival of the magical Mary Poppins. Embarking on a series of fantastical adventures with Mary and her Cockney performer friend, Bert, the siblings try to pass on some of their nanny's sunny attitude to their preoccupied parents.
• Wednesday, June 19 - "Elemental" In a city where fire, water, land, and air residents live together, a fiery young woman and a go-with-the-flow guy discover something elemental: how much they actually have in common.
• Wednesday, June 26 - "Toy Story 2 (25th Anniversary)" Woody is stolen from his home by toy dealer Al McWhiggin, leaving Buzz Lightyear and the rest of the gang to try to rescue him. But when Woody discovers that he's actually a valuable collectible from a once-popular television show called "Woody's Roundup" and is reunited with his horse Bullseye, Jessie the yodeling cowgirl and his faithful sidekick, Stinky Pete the Prospector, he doesn't want to leave. Woody must decide whether he will return to Andy and his old friends, or stay with his newfound community.
• Wednesday, July 3 - "Tangled" Beautiful princess Rapunzel has been locked away in a tower since she was captured as a baby by an old hag. Her magical long blonde hair has the power to provide eternal youth, and the evil Gothel uses this power to keep her young. At the age of 18, Rapunzel becomes curious about the outside world, and when a prince uses her tower as a refuge, she asks him to help her escape.
• Wednesday, July 17 - "Lilo & Stitch" A tale of a young girl's close encounter with the galaxy's most wanted extraterrestrial. Lilo is a lonely Hawaiian girl who adopts a small ugly "dog," whom she names Stitch. Stitch would be the perfect pet if he weren't in reality a genetic experiment who has escaped from an alien planet and crash-landed on Earth. Through her love, faith and unwavering belief in Ohana, the Hawaiian concept of family, Lilo helps unlock Stitch's heart and gives him the ability to care for someone else.
• Wednesday, July 24 - "The Incredibles (20th Anniversary)": In this lauded Pixar animated film, married superheroes Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl are forced to assume mundane lives as Bob and Helen Parr after all super-powered activities have been banned by the government. While Mr. Incredible loves his wife and kids, he longs to return to a life of adventure, and he gets a chance when summoned to an island to battle an out-of-control robot. Soon, Mr. Incredible is in trouble, and it's up to his family to save him.
• Wednesday, August 21 - "Wonka": Based on the extraordinary character at the center of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Roald Dahl’s most iconic children’s book and one of the best-selling children’s books of all time, “Wonka” tells the wondrous story of how the world’s greatest inventor, magician and chocolate-maker became the beloved Willy Wonka we know today.

Emmaus Community Pool

Are you looking for some weekend, family-friendly entertainment? Head to Emmaus Community Park and Pool, where you can enjoy the movie in the park, or go to the pool or poolside with concessions for Emmaus for Flick and Floats. Movies are presented by Emmaus Borough, Emmaus Recreation & Entertainment Commission, Emmaus Arts Commission, and Kelly Auto Group.

The City of Allentown's “Movies in the Park” series returns this year featuring tons of favorites and classics showing at various locations across the City. The family-friendly movie nights are run by the Bureau of Recreation from May through October as part of the City’s free entertainment lineup this summer.

• Friday, June 7 at 8:00 p.m.: “Barbie” at Malcolm Gross Rose Gardens 2800 Parkway Blvd. Pre-movie activities start at 6:00 p.m. and the rain date is Saturday, June 8.
• Friday, July 14 at 8:00 p.m.: “The Little Mermaid (2023)” at Cedar Beach Pool 101 N Ott St. Pre-movie activities start at 6:00 p.m. and are part of Juneteenth Celebration. Rain date is Saturday, June 15.

Upper Macungie Township Parks and Recreation presents Movies in the Park! All movies are free and start at dusk, but get there early to enjoy the food trucks! Make sure to bring a chair and blanket.

• Friday, June 7: "Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank (PG)" at Hopewell Park. This free event begins at sundown and will feature fun kid's activities like face painting, a visit with some critters from Wildlands Conservancy, a bounce house, Red Robin Food Truck and Mon & Mel's Ice Cream Truck, and will conclude with a family movie night under the stars!
