Lehigh Valley's coffee scene is diverse – full of wholesalers, roasters, and coffee shops who sell way more than just your standard cup of drip coffee. For example, Bethlehem’s Monocacy Coffee Co. offers retail purchases & provides its roasts to a staff-favorite hangout, Lit Coffee Roastery & Bakeshop. Or, take ThreeBirds nest, who offers their unique coffees in two locations in Easton— the Easton Public Market and their own brick-and-mortar on Bushkill Street. If you’re looking to peruse a wide variety of coffee and teas, check out the selection at Heffelfinger’s at the Allentown Farmers Market.

While these unique roasters and shops may not have sophisticated rewards apps like big national chains, you will be rewarded with delicious coffee & lattes, cozy gathering places, and maybe actual conversations with other customers. The Joint (904 Lehigh Valley Lifestyle Ctr, Whitehall) Grab a specialty coffee while shopping at the Lehigh Valley Mall. You'll find the Whitehall location near Pottery Barn and the Apple Store.
Cafe 23 (318 Main St., Emmaus) You'll always find fresh food and coffee at Cafe 23 - even their coffee syrups are flavored naturally with monk fruit! Stop by for a delicious cold brew or classic latte while eating a healthy brunch.

Bethlehem Favorites

Bitty & Beau's Coffee (74 W Broad St, Bethlehem) A very welcome addition to Lehigh Valley's coffee scene is this new location of Bitty & Beau's Coffee, a national franchise that serves up great coffee to patrons and important employment opportunities to workers with different abilities. The modern, bright, and spacious shop is the perfect spot for an afternoon pick-me-up like a Cinnamon Cappuccino. Bitty & Beau's has a unique way of ordering to make it easier for their employees. When you place you're order, you'll receive a playing card (think, queen of hearts, five of clubs, etc) and when your order is ready, the workers call out your card.

Lit Coffee Roastery and Bakeshop (26 E. Third St., Bethlehem) Prepare to be delightfully surprised by this SouthSide hangout. Try seasonal lattes and teas (rose latte anyone?) and the delectable baked goods by Made by Lino (the empanadas and macarons are local favorites). Check out decor and goods from local artists and lounge in some cozy couches at the front of the Bakeshop
Deja Brew Coffeehouse & Deli (101 W. Fourth St., Bethlehem) This unique corner spot on SouthSide Bethlehem offers standard coffee selections, sandwiches and salads. You'll often find Lehigh University students studying amongst the cozy furniture.
The Joint Coffee Co. (77 W. Broad St. #18C, Bethlehem) Don’t let the Broad Street address fool you – the easiest entrance to this hidden hangout is off the Sun Inn Courtyard or from Guetter Street. The nitro cold brew is a must for a refreshing treat or try seasonal favorites like, the Pumpkin Spice Latte. The Joint's take on this pop-culture staple has what the big name chains don't; you'll taste the hints of pumpkin paired with the delightful bitterness that is good espresso.

The Wise Bean Coffee & Espresso Bar (634 N. New St., Bethlehem, PA 18018) This teeny, comfortable community hangout takes their coffee vibes seriously (no phone conversations allowed!) You’re guaranteed a great cup of joe and maybe even a conversation with a neighborhood regular.
Saxbys Lehigh (3 W. Morton St., Bethlehem, PA 18015) Located on Lehigh University’s campus, Saxbys is filled with caffeine-fueled MountainHawks. There are plenty of places to perch with your laptop with, most importantly, plenty of outlets to get your full charge!

Terra Cafe (321 Northampton St., Easton) Find more than just organic coffee at this cafe near the city's Centre Square. Terra Cafe features a full breakfast and lunch menu.
ThreeBirds Coffee House (226 Bushkill St, Easton or Nest inside the Easton Public Market) A historic structure, built in 1862, and known as the Bull Mansion features a rotating selection of three to four single-origin coffees and espresso drinks, including cappuccinos, cortados, and lattes, as well as craft sodas and kombucha from Emmaus’ Porch Tea.
Quadrant Book Mart (20 N. 3rd St., Easton) This place is packed with character and charm. Housed in one of the stunning old buildings of downtown Easton, and doubling as a used book store (be sure to head upstairs to check out all the nooks filled with books), you'll find a cafe on the first floor offering tasty beverages and delicious meals. The array of beautiful antiques and used books create the ambiance perfect for curling up by their warm fireplace with a new literary adventure. As a passionate lover of both coffee and old books, this place is paradise.
Plants + Coffee (1458 Northampton St, Easton, PA 18042) Latte lovers can find all kinds of unique creations at Plants + Coffee! They always have a monthly specialty latte (for a limited time, of course), that pairs perfectly with one of their custom bagels. Make sure to browse their beautiful selection of houseplants while you're there!
Spectracolor Coffee Roasters (1247 Simon Blvd n107, Easton) Located in the Simon Silk Mill, the team at Spectracolor are brewing up classic favorites like cappuccinos, teas, and lattes. Treat yourself to one of their delicious chocolate croissants while you sip on a strawberry matcha latte!

Bangor, Bath, and Beyond

Empire's Coffee (44 Broadway, Bangor) Yes, Bangor has two coffee shops on Broadway! Empire’s serves coffee but also pastries, breakfast, and lunch items.
Daily Grind (116 E. Main St, Bath) This local favorite offers quick bites for breakfast and lunch in addition to caffeine-fueled beverages. Treat yourself to one of their tasty baked goods that vary by day, including coffee walnut muffins, oatmeal raisin cookies, and more.
