Lehigh Valley Tourism Improvement District

Discover Lehigh Valley® is working with hotels and our county partners to establish a Tourism Improvement District (TID) serving Lehigh and Northampton counties. The TID would create a dedicated, sustainable source of funding to grow overnight visitation throughout the Lehigh Valley. This visitor-funded investment would strengthen our ability to attract sports tournaments, meetings, conventions, events, and leisure travelers while generating additional room nights and visitor spending across the region.

A regional TID has the potential to help generate:

  • $6.5–$7.5 million in annual destination marketing resources
  • 40,000–55,000 additional hotel room nights
  • $18–$23 million in new visitor spending
  • Greater ability to recruit sports, meetings, conventions, and events
  • Increased midweek and off-season visitation

Most importantly, this investment is designed to grow the overall visitor market, creating new demand that benefits hotels, restaurants, attractions, retailers, arts and cultural organizations, and other businesses throughout Lehigh and Northampton counties.
