October 2 - 4 & 9 - 11, 2020

If you’re looking for a little German culture done Pennsylvania style, why not experience Oktoberfest? Located on the SteelStacks™ campus in Bethlehem, the blast furnaces of the remainder of Bethlehem Steel set the backdrop to this unique event.

Oktoberfest is the perfect time to sample some brews in two large Yuengling Beirgartens, listen to live polka, rock and party music, and eat your heart out with authentic German food. You’ll also experience axe-wielding lumberjacks of the Great Lakes Timber Show. You can cheer for your favorite dachshund as they race against each other to the finish line. Or watch ice sculptors in an elimination-style competition. There will also be local artisans for you to find that special piece to take home.

And you can partake in the Yuengling Oktoberfest 5k Run / Walk on Oct. 4 at 10:30 a.m. This 5k will be like no other as there will be German-themed elements along the way! You won’t want to miss out on the swag bag that you’ll receive either; including a t-shirt, beer stein / mug, an early VIP access pass, and even a free beer to those that are over 21 years of age. Runners can register here.

The 2020 Oktoberfest race will wind its way through Bethlehem’s SouthSide and the Historic District. The race will follow any state and city guidelines in place at the time regarding COVID-19 safety and mitigation efforts. Proceeds from all 5K registrations go directly to support ArtsQuest to help fund its mission of engaging and revitalizing the community through arts programs and cultural events, 50 percent of which are free to attend. These include the Levitt Pavilion Summer Concert Series, Musikfest, and the Banana Factory’s ArtSmart afterschool program for area students.
