Jacob Nicholas House
The Nicholas House is one of the few buildings in Easton remaining from the Federal Period. Named after Jacob Nicholas, a wood turner and later owner/captain of Durham Boat, this house is notable because it has always been home of a working class family. Built in 1807, this colonial-style "bank" house still retains the original 200-year old brick entry walk. The kitchen features a walk-in beehive fireplace oven for baking.
Named to the National Register of Historic Places in 1976, the Jacob Nicholas House is open for tours on special event dates and by appointment.
