Women in Science & Engineering Career Connection Days


Women in Science & Engineering Career Connection Days bring together the fun and engagement of Da Vinci Science Center-style hands-on learning with the opportunity to meet real professionals working in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields.

The annual event was introduced in 2015 by Da Vinci Science Center as part of its larger WISE Initiative, which offers a number of programs and events throughout the year to introduce students to STEM careers while also connecting women working in STEM fields, creating a supportive community of STEM professionals. 

This year’s WISE Forum includes a panel discussion moderated by the former Director, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Julie Louise Gerberding, M.D., M.P.H. Dr. Gerberding is currently Executive Vice President and Chief Patient Officer at Merck & Co.

The other distinguished leaders who will join her on the panel are: Kelly Beaver, UGIES’s Vice President of Energy Marketing & Supply; Victoria Brifo, Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at Air Products; Jaye Gardiner, Postdoctoral Research Associate, Fox Chase Cancer Center, and IF/THEN® Ambassador; Lisa Nibauer, Executive Vice President, Business Unit Leader, Diagnostics, OraSure Technologies, Inc.; Elsa Reichmanis, Professor and Carl Robert Anderson Chair in Chemical Engineering in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at Lehigh University, and Annette Van Dien who is a Senior Engineer at D’Huy Engineering, Inc.

Panelists will discuss topics ranging from balancing their busy careers with their personal lives to how they chose their professional paths, and the challenges and rewards of their professions.
