West End World of Food Festival
The 5th annual West End World of Food Festival has something for everyone – music, crafts, childrens’ activities, eating contests, beer, wine, and, of course, a wide variety of food to enjoy! The festival is produced by the West End Alliance, Inc., a non-profit neighborhood organization dedicated to promoting the area while celebrating Allentown’s diverse cultural community through food, art, and music.
The music lineup:
Noon – The Smith Compound Band
2:30 p.m. – GirlCrue
5:30 p.m. – M80 Party Band
8:30 p.m. – Kevin Miller’s Smashed
Food vendors include:
Atomic Hogs Pit BBQ, Bananarama, Blend Life, Bull and Bear Restaurant, Gotta Lotta Gelata, Grumpy’s BBQ, Jerkie’s Jamaican BBQ, Josie’s Fancy’s Funnels, Little Mike’s Fine Foods, Madi’s on a Roll, Puertorrican Culture Preservation, Shanty on 19th, Sherri’s Crab Cakes, Stagger Lee’s Grille, Take a Taco, and The Dawg Pound
Two eating contests will take place in front of the band shell in between the music performances with $100 in gift cards awarded to the winners. See how many donuts from Mary Ann Donut Kitchen you can eat in 120 seconds at 5 p.m. or chocolate cake from Wert’s Cafe at 8 p.m. The eating contests are limited to 8 individuals, 18 years of age or older. There will be craft and packaged food vendors selling items such as fused glass, hot sauces, handmade jewelry, organic cookies, paintings, and crocheted home goods.
