Finding Vivian Maier, 83 min
http://www.vivianmaier.com/film-finding-vivian-maier/
Vivian Maier (February 1, 1926 – April 21, 2009) was an American street photographer born in New York City. Although born in the U.S., it was in France that Maier spent most of her youth. Maier returned to the U.S. in 1951 where she took up work as a nanny and care-giver for the rest of her life. In her leisure however, Maier had begun to venture into the art of photography. Consistently taking photos over the course of five decades, she would ultimately leave over 100,000 negatives, most of them shot in Chicago and New York City. Vivian would further indulge in her passionate devotion to documenting the world around her through homemade films, recordings and collections, assembling one of the most fascinating windows into American life in the second half of the twentieth century

Visual Dialogue Series - Dialogue #2
Women in Photography
Auditorium
Visual Dialogues is a series of three conversations hosted by the Allentown Art Museum between the audience and Frame 37. Frame 37 consists of three photographers, a photo-historian and an artist who was the former Creative Black Book Director.

Visual Dialogue #2 – Women in Photography, is scheduled for Thursday, March 15, 2018. The Frame 37 group will invite guest artists to delve into the unique prospective that women bring to the image making process. This Dialogue coincides with the Museum’s exhibition of National Geographic women photographers, Women of Vision.
All are welcome to attend these informal and free-ranging Dialogues. Frame 37 asks the community to participate in these conversations, and to bring images to the Museum that they treasure, are confounded by or that they have made. Time will be set aside for questions and a full-throated exchange on the images that the audience brings to these meetings.
See the world differently.
