Plants + Vintage by Steel City Plant Co. and Domaci Flea has a festive lineup of events to celebrate LGBTQ Pride Month at their brick and mortar shop on Main Street in Bethlehem beginning on June 1.
For the entire month of June, Plants + Vintage will donate 10% of sales from their special Pride Collection to the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber’s LGBTQ Business Council’s Scholarship Fund. This scholarship fund provides LGBTQ Youth the opportunity to apply for scholarships for higher education.
Pride Fest at Plants + Vintage includes the following lineup of events:
Thursday 6/24: Gay Tunes at Twilight. They’ll be a stop on the Downtown Bethlehem Association’s Tunes at Twilight schedule featuring a show tunes sing-along show! Tastings + drinks available.
Friday 6/25: LGBTQ Vendor Fair. Come show your support for local LGBTQ organizations.
Saturday 6/26: Disco Pride Shopping Party. Shop + dance with Disco DJ as we donate 10% of ALL sales to the LGBTQ Scholarship Fund. Complimentary beer + wine.
Sunday 6/27: Drag Queen Story Hour. This FREE EVENT is for kids of ALL ages! Local drag star Eileen O'Brennan will be on hand to read a story, entertain us, and she and Steel City Plant Co.'s own, Angie DelGrosso, will pot a plant with your little one(s). Following the story and performance, there will be time for photos with Eileen before you take time to browse the Plants + Vintage Pride Shop full of fun home goods. Mimosas will be available for the adults to sip on as they shop. Doors open at 10:30 a.m.
Co-owners Derrick + Warren Clark have proudly been together for nearly 16 years, married for 9 of those years. Having both grown up in small conservative towns with no significant LGTBQ representation, the couple feels that it’s important for them to help foster a community and environment that is diverse, open, and accepting . . . with positive role models for the next generation of LGBTQ youth (and their allies).
