Olga Kern plays Rachmaninoff plus Blue Danube

The ASO's Classical Season opens with renowned pianist Olga Kern performing Rachmaninoff's towering "2nd Piano Concerto." Recognized as one of her generation's great artists, Kern jumpstarted her U.S. career with an historic gold medal at the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition - the first woman to do so in more than 30 years. Maestro Wittry complements the "Blue" opener with two contemporary compositions - Michael Torke's greatest waltz of all times - the Strauss Blue Danube.

The Saturday 9/21 performance begins a 7:30 p.m. and the Sunday 9/22 performance begins at 2 p.m.
