Ibram X. Kendi is a professor of History and International Relations and the founding director of the Antiracist Research and Policy Center at American University. A New York Times bestselling author, he received the Hurston/Wright Legacy Award, an NAACP Image Award, and the 2016 National Book Award for Nonfiction for Stamped from the Beginning: The Definitive History of Racist Ideas in America. In his newest book, How to Be an Antiracist (One World, August 2019), Kendi asks readers to consider what an antiracist society might look like, and how citizens can play an active role in building it.
