Lehigh Valley Mayors' Sustainability Forum

Join Green Building United to hear from four Lehigh Valley mayors as they present on their accomplishments and discuss approaches towards sustainability in the Lehigh Valley.

Hear about each community's commitment to addressing carbon emissions, recycling initiatives, stormwater management, and more, all in an effort to make the Lehigh Valley a healthy and livable place for residents and visitors.

Governor Wolf challenged cities by signing the first statewide goal to reduce carbon emissions by 21 percent by 2025. What can cities in the Lehigh Valley do to rise to this challenge?

Guest Presentation - LEED for Cities
This leading event will also feature a presentation from Shannon Crooker, Director of Program Related Investments at Sustainable Energy Fund, who will give an overview of LEED for Cities, a sustainability rating system for cities and communities. LEED for Cities allows projects to measure and manage city water consumption, energy use, waste, transportation, and human experience based on 14 key metrics that include energy, water, waste, transportation, education, health, safety, prosperity, and equitability.

Shannon will then share the story of why and how the City of Lancaster achieved LEED for Cities Gold certification, the first in Pennsylvania to earn this achievement at any level as well as one of the first in the world, serving as one example of how cities can further achieve sustainability goals.

Breakfast will be served. Event is worth 2 GBCI CE hours and AIA LUs.
