Industrial History of the D&L Corridor - Martha Capwell Fox and Ann Bartholomew

Details

In the spring of 2017, Martha Capwell Fox presented a fascinating talk about the significance of a few men of genius in the Lehigh Valley who made major contributions to the American industrial revolution. Now, she is nearing completion of a book titled Geography, Geology, and Genius: The Industrial History of the Delaware and Lehigh National Heritage Corridor that expands on the same essential topic, with an emphasis on the industries of the National Heritage Corridor through the decades since the late 1700s. LMTHS vice president Ann Bartholomew has been designing the book, and the pair have been able to find dozens of photos, historic drawings, and maps to enhance the text. Martha will talk again this year, this time with many slides that illustrate the rich story of the industrial development of the Lehigh Valley and the people who came to work here.
