Life is a cabaret, and Cabaret will come to life at Cedar Crest College next month. The Performing Arts Department’s production of the Tony Award-winning musical Cabaret will run from February 21-24 in Samuels Theatre on campus.

Set in 1931 Berlin as the Nazis are rising to power, Cabaret tells the story of the seedy Kit Kat Klub and revolves around American writer Cliff Bradshaw and his relationship with English cabaret performer Sally Bowles. The original production premiered on Broadway in 1966, featuring music by John Kander and lyrics by Fred Ebb. It spawned numerous subsequent productions and inspired the 1972 film of the same name starring Liza Minelli. The Cedar Crest College production will be directed by Bill Mutimer.
