Bicycling's Fall Classic Bike Ride
The seventh annual Bicycling Fall Classic bike ride offers 10, 25, 50, or 90-mile routes on tranquil farm roads, shady country lanes, moderate climbs, and thrilling descents in Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley. All routes end with a Roubaix-style victory lap around the iconic Valley Preferred Cycling Center (“T-Town”) velodrome. Riders will enjoy on-course nutritional, mechanical, and medical support; timing chips (with prizes for top climbers on the 50- and 90-mile distances), and a post-ride party with a healthy lunch, beer, massages, and more! Open to cyclists of all ages and levels! New to this year, cyclists participating in the longer routes (50 and 90 miles) will have the opportunity to ride parts of the course on a dirt road (or stick to Eastern Pennsylvania's smooth pavement). Also: The Valley Preferred Cycling Center’s Fall VeloFest will be held the day before (Saturday, September 30) from 8:30am-2pm. Cyclists can come pick up their Fall Classic packet, and then shop for new and used bikes, components, apparel, and accessories sold by bike shops and fellow riders. Admission to VeloFest is free for all Fall Classic riders who pick up their packet on Saturday. Bicycling Editors will also be hosting a Shake-Out Ride and Happy Hour on Saturday afternoon at 2:30pm, leaving from the Valley Preferred Cycling Center! Registration required — add our Saturday ride to your cart when registering for the ride. Riders who register by September 1st will get the exclusive 2017 Bicycling Fall Classic T-shirt.
