Discover Lehigh Valley is proud to partner with the Greater Lehigh Valley Music Association to sponsor the Discovered Artist Award. Each year, this award spotlights those who are either new to the scene or who had a breakout year in recognition. 

Learn more about the 2018 nominees below and be sure to cast your vote for this year's winner. Voting will open on Monday, February 12 and will close Monday, February 26. The winner will be announced at the 2018 Lehigh Valley Music Awards, scheduled for Sunday, March 4 at the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks. Good luck to all the nominees!

Blind Choice
Blind Choice is a punk rock band trying to make their dreams come true and by inspiring people and challenging the world with their music. They want to just get as far as they can as a three-piece band and make not only punk rock history but rock-n-roll history. The band members are Dylan Pysher on guitar/vocals, Matt Habrial on bass, and Tanner Snyder on drums.

Stacy Gabel
Stacy is a classically trained soprano with a passion for singing harmonies. She plays acoustic & electric guitar, piano, mandolin, violin, and the ukelele. She enjoys collaborating with other musicians on just about any genre of music. With a background in musical theater and children’s television production, Stacy enjoys performing anything from Bach & Broadway to pop, rock, and country music. She has appeared in several TV & film roles including “General Hospital” and “Charmed,” and sang in several TV & radio jingles including Nickelodeon and Nick at Nite. 

Alpha Zero Three
Influenced by bands such as Sound Garden, Incubus, Queens of the Stone Age, Ozzy Osbourne, Kings X, Disturbed, RUSH, and the Foo Fighters, Alpha Zero Three is a rock band that hails from eastern Pennsylvania and features Monty Leach on vocals, Jeff Smith on guitar, Stefon Pizzuto on bass, Russ McAdoo on drums, and Bob Giovannetti on keyboards.

TimeWhy?s
TimeWhy?s (Dave Follweiler, Tom Drago, Gene Cullison, Frank Drago, Mark Johnson) perform the great music of the 1960s, recreating those captivating times when songs by The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and The Who filled the airwaves. Their SoundCloud recording of the Lovin’ Spoonful’s “Summer in the City” has been played over 50,000 times! The band reproduces many of the intricate details of the original performances in the songs they play because they believe you should hear these songs as you remember them. Nearly everyone who’s heard TimeWhy?s has been impressed by the quality of their vocals and harmonies.

Cubbage
Cubbage is a self-producing and multi-instrumental folk/pop singer-songwriter. He first started writing music with the alt-rock duo Read the Program until college had broken their paths and he started to find his own sound. Cubbage has played in multiple festivals and music conferences such as Musikfest, Millennium Music Conference, and Singer-Songwriter Cape May. Cubbage has been featured as an artist on NoiseTrader's home page and has played notable venues such as Rockwood Music Hall in NYC, SteelStacks in Bethlehem PA, and The Haunt with his previous band, Pollen, in Ithaca. He also played keyboard for national touring funk band the Devyl Nelly's on their east coast tour.
