My boyfriend had given me a gift card for their silver spa package for my birthday last month. It included a European facial, whirlpool pedicure and pampering manicure. I added a one-hour massage too, since there's no point in going to a spa and not getting a massage in my book.
Of the four services I experienced, my two favorites were the facial and the pedicure.
The pedicure started with a nice soak for my tootsies in a mini-jet tub while I lounged, wrapped in a robe, in an oversized captain's chair. The technician lovingly cradled my feet while she rubbed them with an exfoliating scrub followed by moisturizer. She even smoothed out the rough spots with a large file. Once my feet were toweled off, she painted my toes while we chatted. The entire procedure was relaxing and luxurious. And with sandal-wearing weather here, I plan to go back again soon!
For me it's the little perks of the European facial that take it a step beyond your average facial. While the treatments were allowed to work their magic on my face, the aesthetician gave me a neck-and-shoulder massage, which I really needed. She also smoothed moisturizing cream on my hands and feet, wrapped them in plastic wrap to help hold in the moisture and then placed them into heated booties and gloves. When she left me alone for 10 minutes toward the end of the procedure, I was so relaxed that I started to drift off. It was like a dream.
Have you ever pampered yourself at Lehigh Valley spa or salon? Which one is your favorite?
