Tuesday was an absolute beautiful day in Lehigh Valley. The sun was shining and the temperature just right for mid-May. I had a request for assorted brochures and the Discover Lehigh Valley Official Visitors Guide from Matthew at Rustic Dreams Bed & Breakfast in Bethlehem. I was happy to drive out to meet Matt in person and tour this lovely property.

When most people think B&B, they envision an old converted mansion. That’s not the case for Rustic Dreams. Matt and his wife, Jean, dreamed of running an inn so they built their home with that vision in mind. Don’t let the name “rustic” fool you ... this place which is only a couple years old, was built with every modern convenience included!

The setting itself is on two acres and extremely peaceful. You’d never know you were minutes away from major highways that make getting there very easy. It is situated on Wilson Avenue, a narrow country road, which allows you to slow down and take in the scenery.

Attention to detail would be an understatement in describing Rustic Dreams. The hand made, one-of-a-kind, furniture blends perfectly with the owner’s collection of Native American art work and artifacts. Just entering from the large wrap around front porch makes you feel relaxed.

The Sioux Suite features two lovely bedrooms with a private bath, but I fell in love with the Cheyenne Suite which is complete with large Jacuzzi tub that overlooks the private, tree filled back yard. This suite also has a wet bar area, mini-fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and breakfast nook, should you want to dine in room. A gas fueled, stone fireplace graces one corner of this huge space. I could imagine closing the door and never leaving.

Rustic Dreams is located across the street from the Lehigh Canal tow path, perfect for leisurely walks or bike rides to Easton or Allentown. So, next time you are looking for a relaxing, romantic getaway spot pack your comfortable shoes, your bikes, and give them a call. I know I will! [gallery ids="19237,19238,19239,19240,19241"]
