Move over Leave It To Bieber, Rush is coming to town (tickets go on sale in two weeks!). I know how huge Bieber Nation is right now - he sold out The Allentown Fair in under 2 hours, which is an amazing accomplishment. But this is Rush, one of the biggest rock ‘n’ roll bands of all time!

This is going to be the biggest show Lehigh Valley has seen since Metallica played the Fairgrounds in the early 90s. (You know, I could actually hear that show from my house in Whitehall.) This show is going to blow the doors off of any country star, teen pop idol, and rock band that has ever played The Allentown Fair.

I've been working backstage at the grandstand shows since the ripe old age of 18, so I guess you could say I've become a bit numb to most of the acts The Allentown Fair brings in, but I cannot wait to see this show! I have never seen Rush, but have heard fantastic things about their live show. They are the kings of arena rock. I know the music is good, but I'm very interested in the stage. I think it is going to be a visually pleasing show with plenty of video screens, lasers, and lights. I almost forgot the band’s biggest spectacle and probably one of the greatest drummers of all time, Neil Peart. I can’t wait to see him go off on the kit.

So far The Fair has every genre covered this year:

Rock 'n' roll - Rush (obviously), on August 31

Country - Keith Urban, who I understand to be top notch, on September 3

Comedy - Jeff Dunham is bringing a new comedy act back on September 5

Pop - Justin Bieber, who unfortunately sold out in a blink of an eye, on September 4

But The Fair also has 2 more dates to fill. I wonder what they have up their sleeves. Who would you be interested in seeing fill those open spots?
