I was excited - since Valentine's Day fell on a Saturday this year, that meant my fiance Robert and I could spend the whole day together! But neither of us had planned anything.

We decided to go to the Lehigh Valley Mall on a whim. As we were walking in, I had a brilliant idea - a ring! It may be stretching it, but I was thinking that buying a wedding band for Robert on Valentine's Day would be romantic. I hear that "stretching the romance" doesn't get any better once you're married, right?

We went to JCPenney, Freeman, Littman, Zales, and our last stop before we were about to give up, Kay Jewelers. Kay's had a huge selection of rings and when I commented on that fact out loud, the ring salesmen said they are the 5th largest store in the Kay's chain.

Robert kept being drawn back to the same ring - silver with a copper-colored band in the middle. Our decision was pretty easy. We bought the ring and crossed another thing off of our wedding checklist - only a million more to go!

We were starved after our "romantic" date and so we ended up meeting the 'rents at Boston's for some drinks and pizza. Then, on the way home, we stopped at Giant for our Valentine's Day dessert - brownies and vanilla ice cream!

What did you do for Valentine's Day?
