This weekend, my girlfriend and I attended a wedding of a long time friend in Lehigh Valley. The ceremony was held at the beautiful United Church of Christ in Bethlehem. Following the ceremony, we had some time to kill before the reception, so roughly 30 of us made our way to The Tally Ho in south Bethlehem to get a head start on things. I don’t think The Tally Ho was expecting a mad rush of thirsty wedding goers on a Saturday afternoon, but the college tavern manned up and took care of business.
Following “The Ho,” which it is referred to by the brainiacs at Lehigh University, we made our way over to the Best Western on 512 where the reception was held. To many of the guests' surprise, the 30 and over divorcé meat market that usually is The Bar With No Name was transformed into a lovely cocktail area with tasty hors d'oeuvres - can’t go wrong with the bacon wrapped scallops. There was also violin and keyboard players for the guests' musical delight.
After the second cocktail portion of this wedding day, we shuffled into the main ballroom for dinner. The room had a classy feel to it - very nice decorating choices by the bride and groom and well done by the staff. For dinner, I had the filet mignon, medium rare. It was cooked to perfection. I had no problem slicing right through my filet with a butter knife. The mashed potatoes were also delicious.
After a few Captain and Cokes, it was time to cut a rug. I think I wore the soles out in the bottom of my shoes and I know that made my girlfriend happy. I danced so much that I even did the Cha Cha Slide. That was quite a spectacle. There were smiles on my friends faces after watching that a long time after the sliding was over.
That concludes my first post for Lehigh Valley InSite. I hope you enjoyed it and hope to hear from you soon. PEACE OUT!
