Much to my husband’s chagrin, I do pick up the giveaways offered at trade show booths. Last week while attending the Women’s Business Council of the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce’sBuy Lehigh Valley” expo, I tried to exercise restraint, honest! Needless to say, that didn’t work.

My eco-friendly green reusable grocery bag from Express Business Center quickly filled up with an assortment of logoed items ranging from the trade show standard like pens to the smallest manicure kit I’ve ever seen.

Some of my prizes were actually won as exhibitors engaged attendees with games of chance. Since I’m not a beer drinker of college age, I failed to actually get the ping pong balls in the pint glass at Bethlehem Business Forms’ booth; Fred and Scott took pity on me and gave me a glass anyway.  It’s on my desk.

Other “gotta have” items in my bag included two eyeglass cleaning cloths, a seven-day pill box, bottled water, dental floss, highlighters, more reusable bags and a sample of baby wash which I’ll give to Megan.

My “best of show” item has to be my WDIY 88.1 lapel pin, which I added to my collection. Not only is it another pin on my bulletin boards, but it is from Lehigh Valley’s only NPR radio station of which I am a proud member.

So, if anyone in my office is thirsty, has dirty glasses, needs dental floss or has a splinter they need removed, come see me. I just don’t know what to do with the squishy “blue man” stress toy that must have jumped into my bag.

Hmmm, I wonder who won the Apple i-pad that Dutch Springs and Royal Gourmet Foods raffled off?
