My husband and I are expecting our first baby, a girl, at the end of July and we couldn’t be more excited. Pregnancy was not a pleasant experience for me in the beginning, but I have come 180 with regards to my appetite. There is something I can’t get enough of and that is ICE CREAM.

Lehigh Valley has a plethora of places for ice cream and since the hot weather has hit, I thought it would be a perfect time to fill you in on some of my favorite places to get a scoop or 2 … or 5.

My absolute favorite place would have to be Friendly’s for their Super Sundae with pistachio ice cream and double hot fudge sauce.

Next stop on the ice cream tour would be King Kone where they have every Leiby’s flavor imaginable. Sometimes I get a shake 'to go' after I finish eating my regular ice cream. Thanks for the suggestion, Aunt Val.

When my husband Mike gets to choose, he picks the Ritz, for their black raspberry, every time!

Here at the office we are partial to Carvel's ice cream cakes, especially the old standby, Cookie Puss.

At Coca-Cola Park, no Pigs game would be complete without a Turkey Hill Helmet Sundae.

After a morning movie at the AMC Tilghman 8 (yes, they're still open!), my sister and I have been known to hit the Marble Slab Creamery next door.

No matter your preference, Lehigh Valley has unlimited choices of everyone’s favorite summertime treat. Does anyone have any suggestions for me to try? My little girl and I have until the end of July to try them all, then it's back to Weight Watchers!
