Last weekend, I had my first fish meal in over 7 months at Youell's Oyster House and it was delicious!
I've been on a detox diet since January, and besides three little cheats (organic pork chops from Emeril's Chop House, two bites of chicken at Historic Hotel Bethlehem, and a few shrimp), I've been very good.
Last week I received the news that I can now at fish back into my diet! So, I decided to hit the restaurant scene with my fiance to find some fish.
The first restaurant that came to mind was Youell's Oyster House in Allentown. We were able to get a reservation with ease for 7:40 p.m., but when we arrived, they were pretty busy and it took a little while for someone to seat us.
We ended up in Youell's back room, which appeared to be in midst of some renovations. They had drywall up and spackle all over. I overheard some people say that the bathrooms were redone as well, but I didn't venture in there to find out. I am sure everything will be very nice when it is done.
For my meal, I ordered the broiled haddock. It was a huge portion, served with a vegetable and rice. I thoroughly enjoyed just about every last bit of it! Michael ordered one of their broiled combination dinners that included lobster tail, scallops and shrimp. Unfortunately, I'll have to wait for another day to have the shellfish (I can't wait!).
So where would you recommend I head for some good fish in Lehigh Valley?
