If you are looking for something fun to do with the kids, you've gotta head to Rascal's Food & Fun in Allentown, Pa. I recently took my 15-year-old son and one of his friends and they had a blast.
When we got there I almost had to pay them to order dinner first because all they were focused on were the games, games and more games. Unfortunately someone had to wait for the food, which meant I had to stay behind. But I really wanted to play the games too!
The food at Rascal's was very good. We started off with The Sampler(buffalo wings, mozzarella sticks and quesadillas). My son ordered a boring old cheeseburger and fries (his standard) and his friend ordered a nice chicken caesar salad. I decided to try the chicken and broccoli pasta alfredo and was more than stuffed when we were done.
After dinner it was back to Rascal's virtual wonderland of entertainment. The kids stuck to the traditional arcade-type games, like skee ball and whack-a-mole, but it was hard to miss the fact that Rascal's also offered bowling, rock climbing, laser tag and even Guitar Hero. My favorite game was the one like roulette, but with lights instead of a ball.
The kids could have spent hours playing all the games, but eventually it was time to "cash in" on their winnings. I can't remember exactly how many tickets they collected, but they each got a little something and banked the rest of their points for next time.
While I was there, I noticed a loft bar for adults overlooking the game floor. What a perfect place to spend happy hour! I am definitely going back ... without the kids.
How about you, have you ever been to Rascal's?
