Neil Young's legendary Unplugged album was literally the first CD I ever owned. That may date me to some and not to others, but, the point is that it was worthy of being an appropriate introduction to the music of my life.
And, this weekend, another set of young people are going to pay their tribute to Neil Young by playing his music during two concerts in Easton. The School of Rock, a local music school for talented youths, will pay tribute to young at Rivals Sports Bar located at 5 Lehn's Court at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, May 9 and 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 10.
What makes this event(s) a worthy place to spend your time is not only the music that they will be playing (arguably some of the best rock and roll in American history) but the fact that it will also be played by School of Rock students.
And, while watching your favorite cover band each weekend may usually be on your to-do list, watching some up-and-coming musician cut their teeth at what could be their biggest concert to date has already got the hair on the back of my neck standing up.
I really hope they play "Harvest Moon"!
See you there.
