Now that the fall season is upon us, it’s time to bring on the foliage, apple picking, and pumpkin flavored everything. After all the fall themed activities and fun, take advantage of the perfect chance to grab a bite to eat at one of the many restaurants in Lehigh Valley. Below is a compilation of a few favorites with outdoor seating; but even better—with fire pits and/or heat lamps for the crisp fall weather ahead.
The Bayou – The back patio at The Bayou hosts comfy chairs and a fire pit that is perfect for fall. Southern inspired dishes and drinks are the perfect pairing with the laid back atmosphere. You cannot go wrong with anything on their menu and don't forget to try their cocktails including the maple peach sour.
blue grillhouse – Obviously, we could never forget blue grillhouse. Be sure to enjoy their outdoor seating while you still can but not to worry—they have a cozy fire inside at the bar to enjoy year-round. Plus, their seasonal fall happy hour specials are a nice touch.
Centro – The brand new Centro in downtown Allentown is another great spot for al fresco dining. This is a cozy restaurant serving Italian dishes, small plates, and seasonal specialties. There are two gas fireplaces—one inside and the other for outdoor dining.
Melt – Above two floors of seated dining is Melt’s spacious rooftop bar, dubbed Level 3. The bar includes a cozy fireplace on the interior plus an outdoor patio with heated cabanas and a fire pit that allows for year-round happy hours and events. With a perfect location at the Promenade Shops and an upscale atmosphere, this is perfect for special occasions and evenings out.
Slopeside Pub & Grill at Blue Mountain – With an unbeatable view and laid back atmosphere, this restaurant is a can’t-miss. During the fall, they begin to turn on their outdoor fire pits making it the perfect dining experience for cooler weather. Check out their outdoor games through October for the full experience. Plus, there are two indoor fireplaces which are perfect for relaxing during ski season. Majestic slope side views and warm fire pits—what could be better?
Tapas on Main – If you’re looking for a cozy bar with unmatched views of downtown Bethlehem, check out Tapas on Main. You can’t beat their award winning sangria paired with meats, cheeses, and tapas. Their outdoor seating is the best for people watching and luckily, their heat lamps will keep us warm during the fall season. Check out the fall selections of sangrias to make the experience even sweeter.
The Wooden Match – With a great location in downtown Bethlehem, The Wooden Match is a great place if you’re looking to kick back with a craft beer and a burger. Their outdoor seating is especially welcoming when there is a fire pit to keep you warm at night.
These are just a few of the many local restaurants with outdoor dining. Plus, with the resurgence of Allentown’s downtown restaurants, I am excited to see what they have in store for us as the weather cools down. Either way, enjoy the outdoors while you still can!
