Celtic Classic in Bethlehem each September is one of my favorite Lehigh Valley festivals. While I'm not Irish, I love the music and food from the Emerald Isle (okay, maybe not haggis), and I attend almost every year. My favorite part is the Showing of the Tartans parade down Main Street.
When I recently found out that the non-profit organization that puts on the event, Celtic Cultural Alliance, had taken one on the chin due to severe rain and flooding at the 2008 festival, I was concerned that there might not be a 2009 event.
So to help ensure that there is a festival this year, the organization is planning a pub crawl fundraiser this Sunday, May 17 in Bethlehem called The 2009 Come Hell or High Water Kilted Celtic Crawl. They're asking folks like me, who love the festival, to get pledges from friends and family and participate in a pub crawl through Bethlehem.
The event sounds like a blast and I hope to be one of the participants if my busy weekend schedule will allow. Though I'm not sure how many pubs I can make it to before I actually have to crawl back home!
Have you ever done a pub crawl before?
