After spending many years in the hotel business, I have to admit that my idea of camping is no room service. Despite that, and the fact that my only "real" camping experience was over 20 years ago, I wanted to tell you about one of Lehigh Valley's most beautiful campgrounds, Evergreen Lake, which is right around the corner from my house.

Just because I personally don't camp doesn't mean I haven't enjoyed their facilities firsthand.

I like to go fishing, but I don't fish enough to actually go buy a license. But Evergreen Lake has a 25 acre lake, stocked to the gills (pun intended), that is perfect for my occasional fishing trips since you don't need a license to fish there.

I've also rented paddle and row boats at the lake - my son and his friends spent many an afternoon there when they were growing up.

With 300 acres, Evergreen Lake is big enough for campers and weddings/receptions/company picnics/etc. to coexist peacefully. I'm not sure of the exact number of people their pavilion can hold, but I know I've been to some pretty big clam bakes there!

Sitting around a campfire outside a friends pop-up a few years back made me realize how peaceful and relaxing camping can be. I just might try it again.  Any tips for a novice camper like me?
